A full-sized waistpack that converts to almost quadruple in size, becoming a dual compartment full-sized backpack? Sounds too good to be true, but believe it. And it's made of an ultra-durable, ultra-light silnylon material that packs easily into it's own pouch. It's never been so easy to grab and go.

Comments about Eagle Creek 2-in-1 Backpack/Waistpack:

I like this pack. It's designed to convert to a fanny pack but it's unlikely I will ever use it as a fanny. The fanny pack feature attached is perfect to help distribute the weight of the pack from my shoulders to my hips. I think it will help my shoulders carry my camera equipment and drinks.

It will be a great under the seat accompaniment when we fly as it's roomy but easy to access. It has a pocket inside for things you don't want to search for like my ear plugs and headphones.

We travel with one carry on suitcase/backpack and one backpack. This saves so much time, energy and stress. We just have a list and stick to it. The EC packing cubes are a great help in maximizing space and organizing. Happy Travels.

Comments about Eagle Creek 2-in-1 Backpack/Waistpack:

I used this on a recent trip to Europe as my plane carry on. Now, I have several other backpacks of varying sizes and functions so I did not think I needed another one, but I was very concerned about weight on this trip so I bought this one. Great move! It's lighter than the travel purse I usually use, which worked out because I've been having shoulder aches so this lightweight back really eased the strain. Also, the ability to convert to a waist-pack was AWESOME. The size with the backpack portion compressed was easy to throw over your shoulder as you would carry a backpack but without the excess floppage. And, after a long day of walking, the option of cinching it over my hips was a relief. And it fit surprisingly more than I expected (like the Icelandic wool sweater that I bought in addition to the things I'd already packed). So, great bag. A bummer that I paid full price a little over a month ago.

Comments about Eagle Creek 2-in-1 Backpack/Waistpack:

Unfortunately, EC kept getting the shipping address wrong so attempted deliveries were refused. In spite of numerous phone calls to customer service, the package was returned to their headquarters almost a month after ordering. I'm now getting a refund and just re-ordered the same 2 in 1 backpack from a major online retailer I've had great experiences with in the past and expect to really enjoy using this innovative product. I won't be doing any further online ordering directly from Eagle Creek, though the customer service people were all very nice. Just ineffectual.

Comments about Eagle Creek 2-in-1 Backpack/Waistpack:

I bought this as a gift for a friend who has used the original convertible eagle creek pack for almost 20 years and it's getting very tired. She uses it all the time and loves the fact that it converts into a backpack. This product, although lighter is very expensive, doesn't have the nice outside pocket the original did and some of the straps seem very flimsy. I am very disappointed and plan on returning it.

Comments about Eagle Creek 2-in-1 Backpack/Waistpack:

I owned the previous ECreek version of this 2 in 1 backpack, which was stolen. EC hasn't offered a replacement until now. This new unit is terrific, it holds more, has better load straps, is larger, seems rain resistant, much better shoulder straps, higher tech construction, much tougher than you think, my old one looked new after 10 yrs of serious urban and travel use and this new one should be even tougher. Folds into nearly nothing, lightest high quality daypack available. It would be nice to have a water bottle holder and an internal pocket or keyholder clip. Headed to Europe with it this Fall.

Comments about Eagle Creek 2-in-1 Backpack/Waistpack:

I took this bag with me on a backpacking trip in the Holy Cross Wilderness Area of Colorado. Gorgeous area btw. I attached the backpack to the front of my backpack hiking in, and then used the 2-in-1 bag as my daybag when doing day hikes and exploring. It was on and off raining all day and had more than enough room to stash my shells, fleece, beanie, snacks for me and my bros... and I even attached my fishing pole to the bag using the attachment points (when we wanted to ditch the fishing and focus on hiking). Great bag. Would have been super useful as a fanny pack, too... but I enjoyed the larger size.
