Comments about Eagle Creek 2-in-1 Sling/Backpack:

I've had this backpack for more than 2 years. I've been using it a lot, and I really like it. It's really light and packable: when I go camping, I put it in my 50L backpack, and I can use this 2 in 1 for daily hikes. I've also used it backpacking in Asia, and the shoulder straps don't get too warm, too unconfortable, or too sticky. They shoulder strap are really confortable.
The outside water bottle pockets are big, and I can secure a bottle or a jacket with the side strap.
The only things to be aware of is that there is only a small inside pocket (not great for organization). Also, because it's ultralight, there is no back support, so sometimes you have to rearrange what's inside so it doesn't pock you in the back. I never had any problem with it though: usually I keep my backpack on, shake it a little so stuff moves around until it fits.
I did rip the outside on a nail on a bench about a year ago. I fixed it with a patch for a sleeping pad, and it hasn't moved since then.
Great quality, great design, I do recommend it to friends.

Comments about Eagle Creek 2-in-1 Sling/Backpack:

It weighs next to nothing, can be tossed in a washing machine, and is sturdy as all get-out. I can fit a ton of stuff in it, though it's not appropriate for a laptop without padding - the only padding it has is on the shoulder straps, just enough to be comfortable. I use it for heading out on trails, with camera, journal, all-purpose cloth, compact windbreaker, wallet, phone, etc. I paid full price for the last one at a local shop, and never regretted it. I use it almost daily.

Here's a testament to it's sturdiness...I pack a small camp chair by stuffing the feet into a pocket and clipping the body to the side of the bag, it sticks up about to my ears but then I can sit out by the ponds looking at the birds and journaling.

Comments about Eagle Creek 2-in-1 Sling/Backpack:

Took this bag on a combo vacation/business trip to Philly. It was small and light enough to either put in the carry on roller or the tote that was necessary to carry some documents. Used the 2-in-1 sling as my bag to explore the city, including walking tours and a baseball game. Main compartment held: wallet, sun hat, small umbrella, rain poncho, baseball program, make-up bag with room to spare. There would have been room for snacks. Inside pocket held phone, power cords, flashlight, travel documents. One outside pocket held maps, guides, the other had a 16oz bottle of water. The strap doesn't look like much, but it is very comfortable. Because it is a sling, you can carry it under your arm or wear it as a cross body bag for greater security. I got this because I' planning a long trip to Europe. This is that bag for sure.

So happy that I invested in this 2-in-1. Lightweight and easy to pack away but it held enough clothing and necessities for the overnight travel between cities.
