LOVE LOVE LOVE this bag. When reading some of the comments I was a little hesitant to buy because a few people mentioned they thought it was big for an airplane "personal bag." This couldn't be further from the truth. This is your typical briefcase size and is not even close to questionable. I've seen some real gems bringing on two bags that wouldn't fit in any overhead. This bag fits perfectly under the seat and any overhead as well.

    Sticking with travel
    - The carry options are so good. I like the shoulder strap for day to day / regular office transportation. To / from the car to the office. When I'm in a city and going to be walking from train to office and whatnot, I pull out the backpack straps and carry it that way. VERY convenient for those longer walks to and from.
    - I've also found that if I'm just doing a single overnight trip I can comfortably fit a change of clothes in the main pocket.
    - The laptop butterfly compartment is great and easy to access.
    - There is a slip on the back to slide over a roller bag handle if you use that too.

    Comfort
    - all the straps are very comfortable. I was surprised how comfortable the backpack straps were.
    - the side and top handles (not straps) are the most comfortable I have ever used. I actually ordered a different eagle creek bag after this was an was disappointed because I've gotten so used to how comfortable these handles are. Really great.

    Style
    - I use this bag for work. Most bags that look like "work bags" are not very practical or convenient with pockets and compartments. This one has both. I love the look - especially the ballistic type material on the outside. Very sleek and super durable.

    Orientation
    - a few people thought it was odd that the bag's horizontal orientation doesn't align well with how the laptop slides in. I've found this to be very convenient though. Most days I'll walk in, stand my bag up vertically and I can just reach in and grab my laptop by just unzipping part of the compartment. I then lean the bag either way from there. I think the vertical slide for the laptop is very convenient. Minimal effort or adjustment needed to get it in or out.

Really love this bag. I highly recommend it and hope to see more like this from Eagle Creek.

My original Eagle convertabrief may have been the best purchase I ever made. With that model and a carry-on bag I could go anywhere. It fit vertically in overhead bins, never raised eyebrows, could expand and contract as needed, and was so perfect that when the zippers finally wore out I bought, on-line, what I thought was the same product. Perhaps my worst purchase ever. It is painfully heavy. Won't fit in a bike basket. Won't fit vertically in ovehead bins. Raises eyebrows when I try to board with it and a carry-on. Before, a couple of pockets, a hook for my keys, and I was good to go anywhere. Used it every day. The new model is so heavy, so rigid, with a bewildering array of pockets -- I foolishly trusted Eagle only to improve what had been a truly great product, and that was a terrible mistake. The new model is a heavy suitcase with lots of pockets. If that's what you want, go for it. But please ask Eagle to bring back the original.

      Comments about Eagle Creek Convertabrief:

I buy bags way too often but it has been a while since I've loved one this quick. I'm thinking this could be "the one". Capacity, features and comfort are top of the line. I don't know about quality and longevity as I've only had it a few weeks.
      I'm delighted :)

        Comments about Eagle Creek Convertabrief:

This has so many pockets and sections that you need to sit and think awhile about how you will allocate the space, and then memorize it.But once you do, it's amazing. Especially for computer/pad/phone and accompanying stuff. (Acquire some additional stuff to stick in it, there'll be a perfect space for that too.) And with all this you can carry by a handle, shoulder strap, OR like a knapsack. How'd they get all that stuff in there and still have space for your stuff?? Incredible. Fits easily under the airplane seat. Actually I find it fits perfectly vertically on its bottom edge under the front of your airplane seat, wedges in nicely allowing easy access AND a totally open space under the seat in front of you for your feet to stretch out!

This is a very good bag. Unfortunately it is just outside the handbag carry on dimensions for international airlines. The bag should be just a bit smaller to fit within those guidelines.

After using a backpack for all my travel, >100K fly each year, this bag is so much better. The pockets keep thing organized and easy to access. Headphones right on the outside, glasses and phone in their own spot, and plenty of room for my extra travel needs.

                Comments about Eagle Creek Convertabrief:

I have an eagle creek roller board that I LOVE. I needed a carry on computer bag/personal bag that's TSA friendly and has 2 important features: back pack straps for convenience and a sleeve on the back that accommodates slipping it securely onto the roller board while traversing airports and hotels.
This bag has both however the dimensions are far too big. Doesn't fit well under the seat in front, questioned for size as a carry on plus roller board, and bigger than the width of the roller board. Also the material was rubberized.
Please please bring back the smaller bag with improvements (pocket closures that work with vertical carrying as a back pack).
I love Eagle Creek and hope for a smaller improved option.

                        Comments about Eagle Creek Convertabrief:

This convertabrief is great as a carry-on when traveling. It makes it really easy to organize what you need on the plane. I find it is best using one of the backpack straps in combo with the handles. My only wish is that it were a bit smaller. It is about an inch too big all the way around. Sometimes I need this to be my "personal item" instead of my sole carry-on. I won't be surprised if I get stopped on that one in some scenarios.
