I love this backpack! I use it for my small personal bag on trips by plane, train and automobile. I am able to carry all my important electronics (medium tablet with keyboard, DSLR camera, pocket camera, largish cell phone, mouse, mousepad, extra small drives and accessories), power cords, and Kindle, as well as a flat ID device that all contains all my ID, a tiny make-up bag, a bottle of water, travel size salt shaker, flashlight, tissue pack, keys, sunglasses, a bit of jewelry, and more! In other words, all my valuables. :)

It packs all those things well with the various pockets inside and out. It looks fantastic (I got the brown one with orange trim), and it is not too heavy, even fully loaded like I outlined above. However, it is a bit of a tight fit to include the fattish DSLR along with tablet with keyboard, Kindle, etc. in the main compartment. A teensy bit deeper main compartment would be preferable, mostly to accommodate the DSLR.

The only other issue I have had with this backpack design is not the fault of basic backpack design, but new rules at art museums. Many museums now require one to wear your backpack on your front(!), and I find that to be a completely uncomfortable and awkward way to wear this (as I'm sure it must be for most backpacks). Perhaps having a way to wear it over one shoulder (like the much huger purses some people carry into museums), with perhaps a detachable strap, or a way to hide one strap, would be a plus.

This backpack replaces an old, but loved Swiss army brand backpack of the same size that is worn out after years of use. I prefer the eagle creek weight and overall profile. However, I would pay more for a few more features such as: pen holders for at least three pens, pencils and sharpies, another change sized skippered pocket.
The location of the security pocket and cell phone pocket is wrong. It is located on the center divider in the small divider pocket. I would sew it to the divider between the small and large compartment. This trouble with the present location is that it is difficult to jam a phone, small wallet or passport in a divider that is floppy. Putting it on the divider between the two main backpack mail compartments will give it more stability as well as more security.

Comments about Eagle Creek Black Travel Bug Mini Backpack RFID:

I bought this pack because it was perfect form to go on day hikes. Mesh back, lightweight and sleek design. Though the mesh backing and shoulder straps are nice-they feel cheaply done and I actually felt like I was sweating through my pack on my hike.

I also found after adjusting the shoulder straps the pieces of fabric was way too long for the pack and looked silly, I had to roll this multiple times around the strap, which was a little ridiculous. I'm also not a fan that there is no waist OR chest strap, this made it not particularly comfortable to hike with, I wish there was an added chest strap or atlas a piece you could buy as an option add on.

Overall I'll use this pack but feel like this can be improved to higher quality materials and functionality > aesthetics.

Comments about Eagle Creek Black Travel Bug Mini Backpack RFID:

Eagle Creek, how did I not discover your amazing Travel Bug Mini Backpack until just this year? I bought this after an extended search for a mini backpack that would hold up well for commuting to work and also for the trails. Now that I have one, I would love to get another one - one to keep clean for work commute, the other to get messy on the trail! Would love to see this in more colors please, including the beautiful blue of previous Eagle Creek Travel Bug Mini Backpacks!

Comments about Eagle Creek Black Travel Bug Mini Backpack RFID:

I have the travel bug in black and in cocca brown. The latter bag gets a lot of positive comments on its color, then the small size is noted. They replaced a much-loved and well used set of E.C. matrix bags, the Argon and the Boron. This bag is good for a small notebook computer, writing implements, wallet, 1/2 size notebook, windbreaker and the occasional apple or bottled water. Works like a champ throughout the whole day. What does not work are the straps, they are sewn in such a way that the spread is for a person with a 44" chest or larger. The right strap on both bag always slips off my right shoulder and I wear a 38/40" coat. Really this a single strap with Velcro bag at best. I can't imagine how small-framed and regular sized women would deal with this anomaly, but it really can't be used effectively as backpack for smaller people. The reviewer that mentioned about the awkwardness of the RFID pocket is spot on. I never use it since it's in an awkward place on the bag. Easier to buy $10 shield. Not really the replacement I was looking for the Argon, but it was the best in the market at the time.

Comments about Eagle Creek Black Travel Bug Mini Backpack RFID:

This is a replacement for a mini-backpack from Eagle that I use daily for the past 4 years. I use it as my purse. I like the security features of of this new backpack. They will come in handy when I travel - as the zippers closures are protected along with RFID shield.

It appears that this backpack is slightly larger than my current one. I'm not sure if I am used to it though.
