Comments about Eagle Creek Digi Hauler™ Backpack:
I purchased this bag for an upcoming dive trip to the Florida Keys. I live on an island, have a large dive bag and need an easy to manage carry on bag. I also ordered a competitor's bag and did a trial packing of both. Here is why I chose the Digi Hauler:It is a great bag, it is light weight and sturdy. It seems a little floppy but not after it is packed. The compression straps pull from each side and have elastic strap keepers, so no floppy straps with this bag. The sternum strap is adjustable for your height for a more comfortable fit. The main compartment is lockable and it has a large back lockable pocket that is padded and suitable for your computer. The crescent shaped pocket is large enough to hold my 24 oz stainless steel water bottle. There is a large mesh pocket on the inside of the lid good for containing small items.I packed enough clothes for 6 days, my dive computer, underwater camera, day bag (packed), and my water bottle, book, snacks and I had room for a bit more. This bag weighs 1 lb 15 oz empty. Once packed it weighed 11.7 lbs. It was comfortable to carry on my back while pulling a large rolling bag.Things I don't like about this bag:The handles are flimsy and are not comfortable. There is no handle at the bottom of the bag, only on the top and one side. This bag is quite uncomfortable when carrying with shoulder strap (not included). In fairness, other similar sized bags are too, but this one is also a bit cumbersome.Improvements I would make in this bag are:Sturdier handles, something with substance that won't yield and hurt my hand when carrying it off the plane. An additional handle on the bottom to pull out of the overhead bin. A full length zippered pocked in the body of the bag for more storage. More colors to choose from. I bought the black bag and like the red accents, but I would not purchase a light blue or yellow bag.In all, this is a lightweight, well constructed, well thought out bag. It is meant to be carried as a backpack and is comfortable with two external pockets that are valuable for every travel.
