Comments about Eagle Creek Doubleback™ 26:

I have the very early version of this bag and it is wonderful. It has been all over the world. I took it backpacking in Europe and I can't imagine a better bag. You can't go wrong with Eagle Creek. The only problem is they make such a quality product that you will never have to replace it.

Comments about Eagle Creek Doubleback™ 26:

In case you're wondering about whether these packs will last... I have both a 22 inch and a 26 inch from an earlier version of these packs. I've been using them since 1997. They have carried my business, leisure, and camping gear to five continents and more than 30 countries. They are both looking rather "tired" at this point, but I'm confident they'll hold up for at least another couple of years.

Comments about Eagle Creek Doubleback™ 26:

98% of the places I go can be reached with a wheeled case, and the DoubleBack 26 gets me to the remaining 2%. I just got back from a two-week foreign trip and I used the backpack features on the first day, to cope with public transport. The straps are not for day hiking, but for getting up stairs or through crowded streets they're fine and avoid being bulky. The shoulder straps from the main bag transfer easily to the daypack and I appreciate the small space/weight saving of this approach. I also use the daypack for dirty laundry when checked for flights, and stow it inside the main bag when possible.

The styling is good, the fit and finish is high quality, and the blue version is easy to spot on baggage carousels. No doubt the green is even easier. Inside the main compartment there are three small mesh pockets on one side, plus another mesh pocket running the length of the inside of the lid. The inside compression straps tighten from both sides of the buckle, which makes it much easier to cinch. Apart from the main compartment there is a thin, half-length pocket reached from the outside, which I haven't found a use for.

I did a lot of research before buying and overall I'm very happy with this bag. Although there are a few minor flaws from my point of view:
          - When attached, a full daypack pulls down on the side straps, especially the top pair. An extra strap at the top would've made sense.
          - The small inside pockets don't close (no zippers), although items generally stay in place when the bag is full.
          - I'm amazed how much fits inside but I wish Eagle Creek would ditch the daypack and make the main bag more like 65L. I guess customers demand attachable daypacks? (But I'm still glad they didn't make it one of those zippered "warts"!)

Comments about Eagle Creek Doubleback™ 26:

I love the endurance. I bought this for my grandson based on my experience with the luggage dating back to 2009. I think the product is very well designed and the variety of ways to carry it and the flexibility it affords with the detachable day pack, make this my absolute favorite. Bravo for a truly unique, high quality, durable and pretty good looking package.
