Bought this bag about 6 months ago. I used it for a business trip and my wife used it for her only bag on a 16 day trip that included a Mediterranean cruise. She overpacked this bag to the max. I really thought zipper failure was imminent. But, this bag took it. I am impressed.

Additionally, on my one 3 day business trip, I felt like the bag, in black, looked good, in addition to being highly functional.

A strong suit of the bag, other than being built to take the abuse, is that one half of the main compartment has very good compression straps. The other half of the main compartment is zippered (no compression straps) that is ideal for EC cubes and folders. I am a big EC folder fan, as it is a great solution to pack dress shirts without a need for ironing.

For those of you who are into lightweight packing concepts, I feel that this bag is one to seriously consider. I have two other competitor's backpack-type carryons and while they are good, this bag is better. I can pack this bag with a total weight of under 20 lbs. counting the bag weight. My packing list to achieve this includes 3 pair pants, 5 shirts, 5 underwear, 5 sox, t-shirt, rain jacket, tie, lightweight merino wool pullover, toiletry kit, laundry kit, cell phone charger cord, book, airline tickets, and misc. other small items.

I have used this bag several times and it carries a lot. However, since the main compartment doesn't have a solid base, if you don't put in a large folder it gets wobbly especially if you try to mount it on top of another piece of luggage. As for the other section, if you put too much in it, then the outer pocket gets compressed and you can't put much in the outside. It would also be nice if there was an option to buy a frame and make this a wheeled bag. I tried putting it on top of the pop top bag and the airline make me check one of the 2 at the gate. I know, my bad.

Comments about Eagle Creek EC Adventure Weekender Bag:

I was surprised at how much I was able to fit in this product. I managed to pack 10 days's worth of clothing, including a pair of boots. I loved the backpack straps, but the bag just didn't have any structure, which made it look bulky if it wasn't filled to the brim. I tried a packing folder insert to give the bag structure, but with limited success. I like this bag enough to use it for medium-length trips, but it probably won't be my go-to.

Comments about Eagle Creek EC Adventure Weekender Bag:

I bought this for a trip to Africa that requires a soft suitcase with no internal frame. I chose it for the combination that it opens like a real suitcase and that it has the tuck-away backpack straps. I could not be more pleased with it!
It holds a surprising amount. It will easily fit what I need for the 17 day Africa trip. I've used it for a 4 day trip that required a range of clothes and it easily fit those and my computer.
The zip main compartment on one side makes for easy opening and organizing, as do the front zip pockets. My medium Garment Folder held by the inside straps makes the perfect topper for the other side of the main compartment.
I will use this often for short trips, and love that it has a sleeve to fit over a rollerboard handle for long trips.
          A terrific suitcase!!

Comments about Eagle Creek EC Adventure Weekender Bag:

I plan to use this bag as a carry on for transatlantic and interEuropean travel. The bag's size will meet 90% of all airline dimensions. I do have a rollaboard carryon that I have used in the past; however, I purchased this bag because it has a sleeve that will slide over the handle of my 22" checked tarmac piece. This piece should fit in the overhead and perhaps underseat as well if not overstuffed. I do wish the backpack straps were completely detachable (hence the 4 star) so that I could remove them completely and perhaps put them in my checked piece if I wanted. I doubt I will use it as a backpack so I will probably cut the straps off. I had debated between this bag and a Tom Bihn; however, I chose this bag because of the luggage sleeve and the reasonable cost.

I wanted a duffel bag that was a bit thinner and easier to handle that my old eaglecreek small duffel for airplane trips etc

I did remove the backpack straps to give me a flatter interior space. Works very well

I pack minimally and found a couple of packing cubes helpful with this bag

Comments about Eagle Creek EC Adventure Weekender Bag:

All in all, this is a good bag. The quality is quite good, nothing to complain about. It fits everything you need for a 1-2 days business trip, even my suit fits in there. I recommend putting the large folder piece in it, in order to stabilize the back better. In general, I'd wish it had some plastic for better stabilitization of the form in it.
Unfortunately, the bag has two downsides: The backpack function is not very comfortable and has a very weird center of weight. The other issue is, that the bag has no straps on the side to tighten it. If the bag is just half filled, it is very wobbly.
Still, a pretty decent bag, but probably also not the last bag you need to buy.
