This product replaced a 30 year old Eagle Creek predecessor. The bag is the same size as my last one with some changes. I have made the transition. I like the RFID pockets and the front pocket areas. The inside lined pocket for a tablet is handy. The rear pocket is zippered and smaller, instead of open and the full size of the back , making it a bit harder to get to papers or books stored there. I preferred the flap that covered all of the zippered pockets on the older one but this still works. I just have to remember to close the zippers. The clasp on the front is a bit tight and can be hard to open if you have arthritis but it seems to be getting easier as I use it.

All in all, it is spacious but not too big, lighter weight than the old one and okay to carry everyday.

I needed the bag for travel overseas. I'm able to use it but my biggest issue with travelling is that I need to quickly access passport, tickets, money, etc without fumbling through my bag and dropping everything. This bag does not facilitate seamless check through processes. The strap separates and twists because I have to take the bag off to dig through it to find what I need. The compartments are just not intuitively or functionally placed for my usage.

Pros

  • High Quality
  • Lightweight

Cons

  • Awkward To Wear
  • Strap Is Not Long Enough

Best Uses

Comments about Eagle Creek Guide Pro Courier RFID:

I like a long strap, so that bag when worn crossbody will hang on my hip, like a messenger bag. This strap just isn't long enough for that. As a result, the bag hangs a bit awkwardly. I don't know if I'll use it that much. Otherwise, it seems like a nice bag.

I have an older model of this bag and I like the protection for my iPad better in the older model and also the older model holds 2 small water bottles, the new one has 1 water bottle holder. The water bottle holder is very important to me and the water bottle holders are really too small

Comments about Eagle Creek Guide Pro Courier RFID:

This is my second Eagle Creek guide bag, the first one used for a number of years. I love this new one in a beautiful color blue as it's a little larger and has more convenient zippered pocket's. The fabric is also better than my previous bag in terms of looks and probably durability. I am very happy with this product.

Comments about Eagle Creek Guide Pro Courier RFID:

I use it as a purse and hoped to use it for travel. It was just a bit too small for that use--couldn't fit my camera in. I really like it though! I have a slightly larger version by Eagle Creek that I will use for my travel bag, and save this one for closer to home.

Comments about Eagle Creek Guide Pro Courier RFID:

The outside pocket on older model was fine and had two outside pockets. New model has only one pocket which is too small for a water bottle--- a real drawback. We took on vacation earlier this summer and used for all the critical documents needed. Two pockets on the outside worked well for water and hand sanitizer. New model was lacking.

Comments about Eagle Creek Guide Pro Courier RFID:

I love everything about this bag. Good quality. Practical design. Comfortable. Lockable zippers. However, since I use it for travel I can't help but think about pickpockets in foreign cities, so I would love to see the bag re-designed to reenforce the strap with a thin cable, and (perhaps) the addition of slash-proof mesh between the layers of fabric.
