Comments about Eagle Creek Hybrid Hauler Medium:
I was looking for a single piece of luggage that would handle backpacking trips and business travel. I prefer backpacks to wheeled luggage as I find it better for moving around quickly, plus I'm a strict carry-on only guy.The bag is great, strong enough for camping, but big enough (when well packed) for a 3 week Christmas vacation. There is very little wasted space and the bag handles wet ground without a problem. It fits nicely in storage compartments on trains and buses. It is a little over size for a quite a few airlines, so far I have got away with it, but you might end up checking it in depending on how strict they are.I chose the drab green color as I wanted something that didn't stand out among the other luggage (to help prevent theft). Being stolen seems the only reason I will ever have to replace this, it should last for ever and thanks to you tube I can now easily pack for 3 weeks with only carry on.I feel liberated from lugging bags around.

I backpacked throughout Europe as well as Kenya and this pack held up great. The zippers are all on the inside (closest to your back), so that made me less paranoid about pick pockets. This pack survived the light showers I was in and kept everything dry. I had about 45 lbs though after being on your feet all day, it would've been nice to have a waist (detachable) strap option.
Hybrid Hauler

The medium Hybrid Hauler is the perfect carry-on for me. I've wanted this bag for a long time. Its good looking, rugged, easy to carry, maximizes cargo space, and is highly stowable.Small wheeled carry-on bags always leave me worried about finding overhead storage space when I get on a plane.I prefer to travel with a carry-on that may be stowed under a seat in a pinch.I've been using a carry

The medium Hybrid Hauler is the perfect carry-on for me. I've wanted this bag for a long time. Its good looking, rugged, easy to carry, maximizes cargo space, and is highly stowable.Small wheeled carry-on bags always leave me worried about finding overhead storage space when I get on a plane.I prefer to travel with a carry-on that may be stowed under a seat in a pinch.I've been using a carry-on with a single shoulder strap, but as a 50 year old, that's getting less comfortable. This bag distributes the weight on well padded shoulder straps and is a dream to carry.Crowded places are easier to navigate with a backpack. The bag is flexible, stows easily, and no cargo space is wasted for wheels and telescoping handle so a lot fits into this bag.I don't want to repeat Eagle Creek's description, but what I'd like to highlight is that there are 2 main compartments, but EC designed the bag so you may use either compartment and get the full volume. You don't have to pack stuff in both compartments to fill the bag. However, you have the flexibility to separate wet/dry or dirty/clean, etc. Both main compartments have lockable zippers. The backpack straps are on the front/top of the bag so the clean part of the bag goes against your back. Also, if the bag is ever checked, having straps that cleanly tuck away keeps them from getting snagged on a conveyor belt. There is a lockable document pocket which is on the front/top of the bag so the pocket is safely tucked against your back while carrying as a backpack. This is a nice security feature. The bottom wet pocket (toiletries?) does not lock.I have had this bag too short a time to judge its durability, but I've been using Eagle Creek products as long as I can remember and they've all been great.I tend to get interested in new innovations long before the old products wear out :)
