Comments about Eagle Creek Switchback™ Max 22:
Wife and I spent 2 1/2 months in Turkey, Greece and Italy last fall. Everything I needed fit in the bag with room to spare. No rips, runs, tears, broken zippers or scuffs. This bag is bullit proof. On and off trains, buses, taxis, planes and pulled down the street the bag is balanced and does not oscillate. Bought another when we got back to the states. Only bag I'll travel with. The Best!!
Not Quite the Old One
By Business Traveler

This bag is really good. It won't let you down. Replaced my 12-year old Switchback 22 with this new one. The old one's lining was getting sticky, a natural deterioration of the material. The new one's main compartment is smaller due to the new, larger telescoping handle and the new, internal backpack suspension system. It's a better pack on my back, with better straps than before, both for the shoulders and across the waist. Mostly, though, I roll it, and miss the volume for those weeklong trips. The new removable daypack is much bigger, some compensation for the reduced capacity of the main bag, though it only has two compartments vs. my old model's three. It makes some access more difficult since this is usually my personal item on the plane, but I've adjusted to it. The larger size makes it a bit less practical as a briefcase substitute for work or as a daypack for carrying a few things as a tourist. The plastic emblem on the main bag snagged on something the one time I checked the bag. Fortunately, the tag's rivets took the hit, leaving two, small, perfect holes where it was attached.

Scotland in the Fall

Oh boy!Let's just say I figured out how to get bulky sweaters, rain shoes and souvenirs crammed into this bag.The lining has zippers at either end so you can tuck small items, underwear, socks and guide books around the hardware. That was a good use of space. With a pack-it folder I was able to get all my warm clothes into it.All my little odds and ends wound up in the backpack portion.O

My Eagle Creek Switchback is 12 years old and has been on many airline trips. It shows very little wear. The retractable pull handle finally failed and Eagle Creek repaired it at no charge to me!They take good care of their customers. I own four Eagle Creek pieces of luggage and they are all in great shape and have lots of miles on them. I will only buy Eagle Creek luggage!

What a product

One of the main reasons I bought this bag was to avoid baggage fees while flying. I am pretty tough on my luggage and hate paying extra money (student budget). I have never once had to check the bag before going through security.I love the seperation between the two bags...it allows me to use the backpack for school and use the whole piece as a travel item. The compression straps are great and al
Excellent Quality Product

I'm love my switchback 22. The fact that I was able to use it as a backpackwhen the terrain is not conducive to rolling a suitcase is so useful. Being able to zip my backpack back onto it at the end of my trip came in handy when I needed to bring an extra carry on which I had to buy to carry some purchases I made. And to lighten my load when I needed to I was able to just roll 1 bag and not carry a back pack because I had zipped it on to it's suitcase. It's lightweight so it is perfect for a 70 year old (although fairly fit) to continueto travel. with relative ease. It's all I brought for a 3 week trip and plan on doing the same this year for a 3 week trip to Ecuador and Galapagos. I haven't tried to use it as a carry on, so I can't comment onthat. I usually just carry on the backpack section, which I love because of the protection it gives my computer and all the room it has.I also use the compression bags, and plan on using other pack it products. Excellent quality product
Great Bag!
By Jon
from Port Townsend,
Just returned from a three week trip to Amsterdam, Paris and across France. Being winter, I had to take enough clothing to stay warm and dry, plus a small sleeping bag for staying at friend and family homes. The Switchback was the perfect size for everything and the zip-off daypack allowed a nice option for roaming around the streets of all the places we went. Standout feature were the wider wheels as the transition between ferries, buses, trams, flights were sometimes quite aways apart and it never tipped over or got stuck. The daypack even handled a 19" HD TV strapped to it! My parents have used their Eagle Creek packs all over the world for over 25 years, & I plan on using my Switchback Max at least that long - Thanks for a great bag!
Does It All

If your looking for a complete bag that does it all from work, play to everything in-between look no further. This will hold up to a 17" oversized laptop in the sleeve. The backpack is great for the office & traveling while the luggage part holds 3-5 days of luggage pending your packing style. Both thebackpack and wheels are essential. Carry the Switchback Max on your back or roll it down the street.I travel for sales and it took some time to find something that met all the requirements. This is the perfect solution for my daily travel needs helping me eliminate bag fee's at the airport.Need more storage?Step up to the Switchback Max 25 and get an extra day or two of storage with the same backpack options.
Great Bag with Awesome Versatility

I love the Eagle Creek brand and the service behind each product. I recently bought and additional bag to replace my old Continental One that I have used for over 20 years: It's the Switchback 22". It does everything it promises to do, but it has some lines that takes getting used to. The main compartment holds the internal structures for the handle bars, so it takes up quite a bit of space. I sug
