The newest tablet sling has been designed with consumer feedback. Namely that shoulder strap zip pocket that seems to NEVER fit the current mobiles.Give Eagle Creek 5 stars for this feature alone. No longer have to dig in a bag for the mobile.Compression strap should be added back from the previous model, minus RFID.The bag is comfortable to wear for hours, and it will fit a 20oz water bottle so you have a back up if you're biking!Slings have been my preference now for regular use.Last, but not least, the brown is nicer in real life, picture does represent it well unlike many other online stores.Friends who travel extensively introduced me to the brand, they're right to like it.

I really liked this bag the phone pocket on the front for me is its best feature. The bad is the strap broke for the second time in the same position both times while I was traveling this time in Australia had to purchase another bag to carry passport, wallet, etc. I'm not going to bother sending back for another repair not worth the hassle.. Feedback: redesign how the shoulder straps are attached/sewn to the bag and it's a great sling.

Comments about Eagle Creek Black Tablet Sling Daypack RFID Bag Backpack:

Customer Service asked for pictures of the pilling; then quickly said is was "normal wear and tear." I'm retired and only used it on two 14 days trips abroad. I can't imagine how this product would perform if someone really used it!

Comments about Eagle Creek Black Tablet Sling Daypack RFID Bag Backpack:

This bag *almost* had everything I was looking for, with a few exceptions:

I'd prefer an exterior water bottle holder.

I understand the straps are meant to be "switchable" from left- to right-shoulder wear, but it isn't, really, (as previous reviewers have noted); you must wear it on the left shoulder if you expect to access the zippered compartments while wearing (which is a chief benefit of this type of bag). Right-shoulder wear (and opposite zipper orientation) would be much more functional:ex: if, while driving, I place the bag on the passenger seat with the heavier bottom end toward the seat back, the zippers are on the wrong side (away from me) and difficult to access. If I instead position the bag so the zippers are toward me (with the bag bottom toward the dashboard), gravity then makes the bag contents likely to fall out. Likewise for opening the zippers while wearing: since I am right-handed, I find it a bit awkward to open the zippers with my left hand.

The slant of the open pocket in front is also opposite what it should be for left-shoulder wear - when you swing the bag around while wearing (to access the zippered pockets), the lower end of the slanted open pocket is toward the ground - a little easier to lose things that way.

The phone pouch is an outstanding feature, but I'm not sure why the zipper is configured as a one-way zip that only opens at the top and down one side - I'd rather have a two-way zip open down both sides, and not open quite as far down on each side (you only need to be able to grab the top of the phone to remove or replace it, you don't need to put it in lengthwise).

One more thing - it has two little pockets (& an RFID tablet sleeve) in the big zippered pocket, but none of those pockets are zippered (only a little velcro-type strap on one). I'd like a way to keep small/private items zipped away in at least one pocket, so they aren't visible - or able to fall out - when I open the larger pocket. Almost perfect!

Comments about Eagle Creek Black Tablet Sling Daypack RFID Bag Backpack:

I was looking for an OTS bag that was not too bulky but also sufficiently large to use for trail hikes and which could hold a small set of binoculars, field guide, videocam, and other random stuff. I also wanted it to be sleek enough that it would lie close to my body and not snag on chaparral or trees. This fits the bill exactly. The one thing I would've preferred is for canvass material rather than nylon, but that's just a personal thing (and nylon is more easily cleaned).

      not for right shoulder sling

Comments about Eagle Creek Black Tablet Sling Daypack RFID Bag Backpack:

I have a sling that is very comfortable however I wanted a bit larger size, and this was a perfect size and good quality. Few issues I have, (1) This is not for right shoulder sling. Yes, I was able to switch the sling to the other side using abdominal sling connector, however once it is moved, the opening goes to the bottom when I swing it to the front of me to access the content.
      (2) Abdominal sling is fixed at the bottom and it is too low for a short person (I am 5'1"). (3) Sling should be a bit curved around neck area. Unless I wear a top with a collar it is not comfortable around neck. (see attached photo, comparison from my small bag)

Comments about Eagle Creek Black Tablet Sling Daypack RFID Bag Backpack:

I just used this on a trip to Washington D.C. with a group of friends. We spent most of our days on the metro, walking, or cycling. The bag is quite spacious and has several different compartments, my absolute favorite being the phone pocket on the front! It is extremely easy to access for my iPhone but also a metro card or credit card I may need to use several times in a day. Things got a little cramped/heavy when I had to pack my DSLR camera as well as a water bottle. Looking back I could've place my water bottle in the outer pocket, but overall I love this bag. I'm currently using it as a purse but look forward to using it on day hikes in the beautiful South Carolina upstate area!
