I'd had it with traditional 2-wheel bags. I've been living out of a suitcase for a few years, in and out of Europe and all over the US for work, so I wanted a bag that would easily go with me, hold up well on those European sidewalks, AND meet my requirements.

First off, I love this bag! Everything about it is perfect and exactly what I was holding out for. For the first time in a long time it felt great to have a carry on that I could effortlessly wheel around with me. I like to pack light, and this is the perfect bag to do that with.

However, after wheeling it around with ease in London for a weekend, I was asked to check my bag at the gate since the plane to Copenhagen was pretty full, so I did. Once I grabbed it off the belt, I noticed one of the wheels was getting jammed after each rotation, which was annoying, but I couldn't see anything visually wrong with it, so I switched sides and went with it. After leaving my hotel a few days later, a man came up to me carrying a wheel, which ended up being MY wheel. So you can imagine my disappointment after spending a pretty penny on a bag that became a burden to carry around after its first bag check.

I don't live anywhere near any of the warranty repair centers, and since I have to pay for the shipping costs from NC to NYC I can imagine it'll be much much cheaper and faster for me to just take it to a local repair shop and pay for it myself. It's definitely annoying!! I still love the bag however there are a lot of 'buts'. Hopefully this was just a one time thing. I'm still going to use it as my primary bag, but if this happens again so quickly then I'll have to ditch the bag.

Comments about Eagle Creek Tarmac AWD 25:

I LOVE suitcases that split open and you can pack on both sides. This suitcase is the best of all worlds -- hard and soft sides, expandable, able to attach other suitcases. It's amazingly versatile. PLUS, the customer service was amazing. Our original one was crushed by the airline, cracking the entire corner and making it unusable. I sent it via UPS to the repair center, and we received a completely new and better designed one within a week! Amazing. I will be loyal to Eagle Creek forever!!

I compared similar suitcases and several cost twice as much. I'm sure they are worth it, but my Eagle Creek is just as good and a lot less in cost.

      I know own a 25 incher and a 22 incher.

Comments about Eagle Creek Tarmac AWD 25:

I just returned from a 12 day trip to Scotland and this suitcase was terrific. I packed it so that it weighed (loaded) less than 40 pounds so it was easy for me to manage. And there were places where I stayed where I had to haul it up and down stairs. It was not easy for me to handle but it was very manageable--nothing against the suitcase--more having to do with the stair arrangements in the places where I stayed.

Bag initially would stand on its four wheels but as it has become seasoned, it now tips over with a briefcase slide on top. I now pack my shoes at the base of the zipper compartment to keep the bottom (base) full figured. The plastic backing case has now cracked and the bag is falling apart. I realize the warranty is available but such a pain to pack a bag for shipping. Likely the last Eagle Creek bag I will purchase. I would not buy this bag if you are travel every week as it will not stand up (literally) to the rigors of an "overhead carryon" traveler.
