I rarely write reviews, but I was so surprised by the one negative review of this bag that I had to share my opinion. I love this bag! It holds more than my rolling carry-on when packed to capacity and fits easily in the overhead bin, yet it can also be packed small enough to fit under the airplane seat because of the flexible material. When traveling with my husband, we usually just take carry-on bags. We take one rolling bag and then stack this one on top when walking through the airport. The two main packing compartments are great and work well with the pack-it system. I also like how it has a butterfly opening, making it easy to pack and view contents. I have used this bag on several trips, and it has been great!

I bought this as a carry-on addition to the Tarmac 25. It certainly fits on top nicely, but is too large to be practical without wheels itself. I.e. by the time I filled it for use as a carry-on, it was difficult to lift. But as a weekend bag for a car, it's fine. Now looking for a smaller, light, wheeled carry-on that fits on top of the Tarmac 25.

Comments about Eagle Creek Tarmac Weekend Bag:

This a really nice bag! Lots of room and it is a lot larger than I was expecting. Plenty of space for all your clothes and tech items. I would say it's more than enough for a weekend. It would be very heavy if you loaded it completely full but the back straps are a big help! I originally ordered the black one and had issues with my order due to not being contacted that the black one was out of stock. However, after calling customer service myself, I re-ordered the olive color and I am ok with it. That is the reason I didn't give it a 5-star rating.

Easy shoulder strap carry. Also has back straps for back pack style carry. Can also piggyback on wheeled luggage's extended handle.

Comments about Eagle Creek Tarmac Weekend Bag:

I love this product and it served me well on two, month long trips in Asia. It is actually a very good size for carry-on and l just love the backpack straps and ability to put it on the extension handle of a suitcase as a ride-along. The compression straps are a plus along with two half compartments, one being a zippered pouch.

My only three improvements would be: 1) The handles need to be more resistant to wear. My showed premature use in a short period of weeks. 2) Consideration to feet being on the bottom in case you need to place the bag down in water or undesirable substances and/or bottom more water resistant. 3) Wish the material used on the outside of the bag was just a little more water resistant.

Comments about Eagle Creek Tarmac Weekend Bag:

Just bought this bag and used it for a one week trip to Hawaii. It is a great carry-on size and fit comfortably in all of the overhead bins I encountered on our 6 flights. I like the organization of this bag and the various carry options. The material seems very durable and it is sharp-looking. After one trip, I'm very pleased with my purchase.

I live out of a suitcase (literally) 24/7/365, so a light weight bag with multple carry options is perfect. I value the inside organization and external pockets. It's great as a secondary bag with just clothes & shoes for longer trips, or on a shorter trip holds every everything but keeps it organized for easy loading/unloading.

We now have two of these bags along with numerous other pieces of Eagle Creek luggage. The two fit perfectly into to rear boot of my Boxster GTS and will be well traveled by the end of 2016. We will use a Tarmac 28 in the from luggage area. From other travels, we have used this bag instead of the 22 inch Tarmac and really like the shape, size and flexibility of this bag. The lack of rigidity is a plus when packing as well as storing the bag.

I just purchase the first of two planned. We own 22, 25 and 28 inch Tarmacs that have been around the world and are still going strong. First purchased in 2008. But when we purchased a small sports car and needed to prepare for road trips, the wheels and frames of the bigger Tarmacs just didn't fit. I soon discovered this bag and the local dealer allowed me to take a pair outside to fit into my tiny rear truck space. PERFECT!!! Ordering the second one and will be taking them on a couple of three week road trips later this year. THANK Eagle Creek for building great usable luggage.
