Four Ah-Has with this backpack:

- The front compartment is quite deep and can hold a surprising amount of gear, including my iPhone 6 Plus, sunglasses, headphones, charger cords for my laptop and iPhone, a travel doc organizer, my bag of liquids and gels, and more.

- Putting a laptop in the laptop compartment doesn't reduce the capacity of the main compartment as it does in some other backpacks.

- A fully-packed medium garment folder will fit in the main compartment of this backpack. At the hotel, I took the garment folder out and had a generously-sized day pack.

- Filled to capacity, this backpack approaches the size limit for a carry-on bag and doesn't stow easily under an airline seat. It will do so just fine though if it's only partially full.

Great backpack in principle, and I use a lot of Eagle Creek products - but this one is a disappointment as the little plastic thingie connecting the chest strap to the shoulder strap broke after only a few months of usage. Will have to send the backpack in for repair now.

Comments about Eagle Creek Universal Traveler Backpack RFID:

Needed something bigger but still carry on for when gate checking roller bag. Holds knitting, stocking stuffers, slippers and iPad. Great for TSA when they want you to remove it. I love that it slips on my roller bag.

Comments about Eagle Creek Universal Traveler Backpack RFID:

Every day for work ( I travel between 14 school districts daily). This has also held up during numerous weekend trips and a 10 day trek through Costa Rica. I love this bag it is a lifesaver and by the way the check point friendly thing really works ( I was skeptical the first time I did it but it makes going through security a breeze).

Comments about Eagle Creek Universal Traveler Backpack RFID:

eagle creek did a significant update of this bag from last year's version. improvements include:
              - increased storage space - 31->35L
              - preserved lightweight despite change in materials
              - back and shoulder straps have a new padding with swiss-cheese like miniholes for ventilation
              - the r zip pocket has an accordion fold that keeps contents from falling out; much more useful for storing a fablet
              - more structured padding between compartments which gives the whole bag a stiffer feel
              - reinforced base for the waist strap

what would be nice to see in future iterations is a top loading pouch that allows storage of smartphones. (see the camelbak mule or tumi knox)

Comments about Eagle Creek Universal Traveler Backpack RFID:

Love the bag and have had it for a couple years now. I travel a hundred thousand miles per year -- always on the road/sky/train ... every method to every continent.

Excellent quality and nice features but the one big missing feature is a front pocket to put Airline tickets, passport, wallet, etc temporarily when you just don't want to have to open up the bag for a short term need. Its a pain now.

It bothers me enough to continue to seek for another solution which has the same features -- but adds that front pocket.

Comments about Eagle Creek Universal Traveler Backpack RFID:

I use it as a daypack, and it's versatile and carefully designed. My only complaint is that it may be a little over-engineered - there are all sorts of pockets and flaps and compartments, probably more than I need. Sometimes I forget where my keys and phone are because there are so many pockets! In general, I'm very happy with it.

A versatile, solidly constructed yet lightweight backpack. I looked at many backpacks at the store, and this one was the clear front runner out of many brands / models. I haven't had a chance to thoroughly test it yet, but the construction feels solid everywhere. The straps at the waist and chest are a plus.
