I bought this for the trip I'm on. Carried it as a backpack absolutely stuffed (and actually too heavy for me), no signs of seams splitting. Zippers work perfectly. There are the right number, size and shape of pockets, not too many, not too few. Things do not get lost in this bag. I packed: Rainjacket folded down into EC Medium size air compression sac, MacBook Air in protective case; iPad in protective case; peripherals; Canon 6D camera, 2 lenses (heavy); camera peripherals; extra stuff men don't bring, jewelry, etc.; contact lenses for 3 months; 3 pairs of glasses in cases (sunglass case got squished though, not sure why); 12 power bars; notebook; and other stuff I can't remember at this moment. The point is, this bag was STUFFED, no room left at all. Was uncomfortable to carry of course, but it worked better than other bags including rolling bags which are lethal when they tip over and fall down escalator, which happened to me last trip. I was entirely organized and could remember where I put everything, which on its own is extraordinary. I'm constantly searching for stuff in other bags. The only thing I want is a lumbar strap and to need less stuff.

I would offer a simple suggestion to consider adding internal and additional external pocketing for your EC adventure 4 wheel up Wright collection?

Comments about Eagle Creek Convertabrief Backpack and Briefcase:

Having trialed numerous types of backpacks & briefcases over 30+ years, I have to admit the convert a brief hits the sweet spot for me in terms of its versatility, and also looks stylish enough for the office & overseas travel. The internal perimetre frame is a big bonus as are the numerous internal & external pockets etc. - The materials are lasting very well at this stage and the bag consistently has 8~10 kg in it to cover business needs (foilders/ laptop/tablet/mobile/periperals/ ppaers etc. My only "druther" is i wish it were slightly larger than 26 litres...Around 30~35 litres would be absolutely perfect for my needs - no need to change anything else - overall Im genuinely impressed

Great bag, but a minor QA issue?

Comments about Eagle Creek Convertabrief Backpack and Briefcase:

This is a great bag for a weekend or overnight. Lots of space. Lots of compartments. Looks very nice. I have only one complaint, which would be a minor QA issue. Between the two outer compartments there is a folded seam running vertically deep within the outer fabric. The upper extent of this seam forms a small bump or protrusion in the inner compartment that interferes with the smooth operation of the zipper serving that inner compartment. The zipper catches every time I open or close it. Very annoying. And I'm certain, with enough time and use, the zipper will wear a hole in the lining at that location. QA should have picked this up, although it may not be a problem on other bags, only mine. From Eagle Creek I expected perfect, which has been my experience in the past.

      Must-have for Travelers

      By Stefan

Comments about Eagle Creek Convertabrief Backpack and Briefcase:

The convertabrief is a masterpiece. Everything is very well engineered and elaborated.
I was on a business trip for 3 days. I had all my personal belongings and also the laptop, charger and papers with me.

I miss one thing: At the airport I could not find my key for the car at midnight.
I would be good to have a snap hook where I can secure my keys.

Many Thanks that you make my trips more comfortable.

      Best bag ever!

Comments about Eagle Creek Convertabrief Backpack and Briefcase:

I have bought the previous model and loved it. Now I have the current one and love it even more. Best bag ever. If I might to have to place a critique and that is really personal then that the little pocket has been not added any more at the left strap. It was perfect to put in my ear buds... but as said, if one searches you might find a negative point. I give this bag 99 points out of 100 ergo perfect score!

Comments about Eagle Creek Convertabrief Backpack and Briefcase:

This bag goes under the seat 4 times / week, goes to work everyday, gets over-stuffed on a regular basis and still looks brand new. All the zippers are still perfect. The strap is like the day I got it. It's a little weird gushing over a bag, but I rely heavily on this bag to get me through every day and it always come through.

      Best Uses

      • International Travel

Comments about Eagle Creek Convertabrief Backpack and Briefcase:

This is probably the best bag I have found for international travel. Nothing else is close.

I travel extensively from Asia, and researched for a few months to find the best bag. I wanted a convertible, as a backpack is preferred when I'm trekking through airports. My old briefcase bag would kill my shoulder after a while, as I lug too much stuff. But I still wanted to switch to a briefcase type so I look professional when meeting with customers, especially in old school Japan. I didn't want my bag to look like some glorified hiker pack.

It also needed it to "stand" upright, as I would likely set it next to my chair in meetings, likely pulling a critical folder, notepad, or laptop out. No flaps either, like on a messenger bag.

I also needed it to hold a lot of stuff. Headphones and a compressed neck pillow for the overseas flights. Sunglasses and regular glasses. Multiple pockets for chargers, passport, plug adapters, catalogs and a tablet. And it needed to hold my 15 inch laptop. (I hate the tiny travel laptops.) It also needed to take abuse and still look nice.

I also wanted something that wasn't plain black. Too many bags in just that color. But didn't want a neon blue or something off kilter either.

Yes, I'm a picky basterd. I had a lot of wants. Sue me.

And the Convertabrief seriously took the cake. Looks great. It has more than enough pockets. Held all my folders. I liked how there were two sleeves for folders in two different compartments. More than enough room for my laptop. Plenty of space for cords, plug adapters, and chargers. I had a charging brick, and it fit perfectly in the slot provided. The little cord winder is a stroke of genius. The pocket for the cell phone is a tad small, but who cares. I stick my business cards in there.

There are minor quips, such as a desire for a hard pocket to store glasses. But who cares. This is an excellent investment for my line of work. Great job guys.
