Good quality, some design flaws

In general this is a great bag. Carry on is roomy and holds its shape well. Awesome wheels and great straps for attaching coats etc. cons are backpack spins when on handle, is very hard to zip and has no extra straps for att hi g things. Seems like an afterthought. You can order extra straps and clips, but only is black.

Poor Design & Customer Service

1

Single bar handle does not work with slide on feature of second bag. When I called about the poor design I was told no exchange and no refund as I had used the bag on one trip.

The color choices suck

It's like they make these things for little girls. Do you have a BLACK BAG without hot pink accents???

Great for Carry On only travel but could use some improvemen

4

I recently got into the carry on only movement. I bought this bag because I liked the backpack strap feature. I see it perfect for walking over European cobblestone roads and running through an airport or train station. The other reviews mention that they don't like the metal bars inside the bag. These bars are for structural support and for the handle when being wheeled around. I found the work around to be packing smaller items between the bars, such as charging cables, underwear, toiletries, etc. Two things I wish that would be improved: the size of the day backpack and the metal handle on the wheeled bag. -The day backpack is too small. I used this on a day tour to Chichen Itza (Mayan Ruins). The tour included a stop at a cenote which we could swim in. My day backpack barely fit my swimsuit, extra tshirt, towel, flip flops, my mirror less camera (Sony a6000), GoPro Hero 5, monopod, 1 liter of water and a few other smaller items (wallet, sunglasses, etc). So much for being a day bag. The listed size is 18L, maybe bumping up the size to 25L would be sufficient. -You'll see in the photos that the bag has 1 bar for the extended handle when it is being wheeled around. I tried slipping the day backpack through the handle but because it has only 1 bar, the backpack would slide around which made the slip on feature completely worthless. I would like to see 2 metal bars, like most bags, to fix this issue. I don't really see myself using the day backpack because if the issues mentioned above. I used the entire set for the first time during a week long trip to Cancun. I had sufficient space for the trip, except for the day tour. I will definitely continue to use the wheeled backpack but I'll carry my North Face Borealis as my personal bag to maximize the baggage allowance. I'm also looking into packable day packs that I can use for my day carry and will fold up into a tiny pouch when not in use.

A good easy to travel bag

4

It travelled well however the back pack is difficult to get into. I think the top should open wider so it eleimates the digging for stuff. I did not like the packing around the metal bar inside. I had an older version and loved it although it was stolen from my rental car in Key West Florida. So I replaced with this upgrade. The older was easier to access but required locking the zippers together to keep it safe. This one hooks under the tab so would be difficult for a thief. So its a trade off. Overall a great bag and if it lives as long as the other I will be delighted as I had the other 20 years and it travelled many miles.

Great luggage, backpack is okay

4

The carry-on luggage is great with lots of space and is easy to access. I used this product on a 10 day trip to Peru, including a 3 day excursion to Machu Picchu, and I was able to fit everything I needed. The carry on is surprisingly slim whenever it's completely full and I had no issues fitting it into any plane's overhead, unlike my normal carry-on suitcase. I do wish the suitcase had 4 wheels instead of 2, but that is minor. I did not need to use the backpack function of the carry-on suitcase on this trip, but it would have been really helpful during my last trip to Italy. I have a bad back and cannot do a duffel bag/backpack combo or something that would require me to carry it on my back the entire time, so that is why I really liked this product. The detachable backpack, however, was less than what I expected it to be. The zipper is sometimes difficult to use and the opening cannot be opened very wide which makes it difficult to sift through the backpack unless what you need is on top. I had a folder in the back with all of our documents/itinerary and it was a pain to pull it out/put it back in. Once the backpack is full it is also difficult to add anything in the front pocket (also wish that could be zipped closed) because the backpack does not stretch or have any give. It is slightly cumbersome to attach the backpack to the carry-on, but in the end I did not have to do that a lot. Although the backpack does not hold a lot and is not easy to use, I did fit everything I needed for the 3 day excursion to Machu Picchu (packing very lightly). It does not have a lot of small pockets or place to hold things such as phone/money/chapstick/hand sanitizer etc. so I wore a small sling bag in conjunction with the backpack for the Machu Picchu leg of the trip which worked out perfectly. I also really love the whistle function on both the carry-on and the backpack. For my next trip, I know I will bring the carry-on but I have not decided if I will bring the backpack yet.
