Not as "No Matter What" as I had hoped

3

I had high hopes for a No Matter What suitcase but within a few flights, it has a large tear and in general looks rough. I like how light it is (even bought 2 smaller bags), but not sure I'd invest in this again. I just went to ship it off for repair and FedEx Ground would be $65-$72. Decided just to live with the tears.

Disappointed

1

I bought this bag two years ago and have used it for numerous trips including a world leg cruise trip and a two week trip to Bermuda. Liked that it was narrow for European trains and trunk style for easy access. Also like that it has a bottom handle and is a two wheeled bag as I am concerned that spinner wheels will break off. I have it in Red and during the first trip when it arrived in London it was absolutely dirty and marked up. I do expect some marking and deterioration, but the scratching and marks took me by surprise. Also during this trip I did find myself wondering if because of the soft duffel style if the contents would be secure. Other than those two issues I felt it performed as it should. However, during the trip to Bermuda several months later we had a lay over in New York and left the next morning in the rain. When we arrived I learned that my clothes were wet from the corner seems. On our way home from that trip I realized that the bag would no longer stand on its own when full of clothes. It was falling forward as the weight of the clothing was too much for the base to support and so I was forced to hang on to the bag when waiting in lines at the airport, taxis, etc. Seems like a small issue, but in reality it is a nuisance. We are headed to Asia for 6 weeks and even though I have water proofed the bag, I decided to purchase a hard shell Samsonite to secure my items. I just didn't feel that this bag was strong enough to support the weight inside it or stand up to the pressures of airline baggage systems. When I contacted Eagle Creek about warranty for the base stand issue I was brushed off.

I bought the cobalt blue wheeled duffel. It is lightweight, strong, waterproof, and attractive. I am looking forward to using it on many long trips.

A Great Travel Suitcase

5

I purchased this case because I was going to be on a long trip (14 plus days). It worked great!!! It was sturdy and had plenty of room. I was able to packet all of my clothes into two full packing cubes with plenty of room for extra.

A quality built bag that holds everything!

When you unbox it, it looks small... but once you start packing it, it is amazing how much you can fit in it. I was able to get all my scuba gear and clothes for two weeks in. I actually fit so much stuff in it, I had to remove some things because I was over the weight limit for a checked bag. The quality is amazing. Then handle feels incredibly sturdy and I had no problems dragging this through the airport. A great bag!

Broke on first use

1

I am a Peace Corps volunteer and bought this product assuming I would use it during all my travel over the upcoming years. It broke on my first flight. I have tried to ask Eagle Creek to make good on their warranty but since I live internationally they will not assist me. I had a similar dilemma with Patagonia and they went above and beyond to correct the problem. Overall I wish I had invested my money solely in Patagonia products rather than trying out the slightly cheaper competitor.

Very Spacious

4

I can't give this 5 stars until I see what FedEx does to the suitcase when shipping it. I will say that these suitcases hold a lot of clothing. They look smaller than the one I used to use, but I was very pleased to see how much they hold. Now, if only they will hold up to FedEx torture... We really like the design of these cases, also.

Bought this product to replace another that completely died.

I bought this product based on independent reviews when my other suitcase lost a wheel and all of the zipper handles broke. I had it delivered to our destination so that I could use it on the return trip. It was easy to pack and held a week's worth of stuff plus souvenirs. I like the little zipper pocket by the handle. I gave it 4 stars because I have only traveled with it once so far. Time and mileage are the true test.

This piece of luggage works great when traveling on trains in Europe. It fits perfectly in the spaces between the seats and causes less headaches when boarding.

Smart choice in Munich

Our suitcase wheels broke on a recent trip to Europe. While in Munich we went to a luggage store and came across this flatbread suitcase. What a great find. It so easy to use on European trains since it fits well between the seats. As soon as we got home we bought a second one. LOVE IT.
